Integrative Cancer Care

What is Integrative Cancer Care?

Incidence and prevalence of Cancer continues to rise in the United States. Only 5-10% of cancers are a result of genetic defects that are hereditary. Around 90% of cancers are preventable and are a result of modifiable lifestyle factors such as diet, smoking, obesity, alcohol, physical inactivity and stress.

In 2011, there were over 13 million people who were living with the diagnosis of cancer. These individuals suffer from the physical, mental, social and spiritual consequences associated with cancer and the necessary treatment that they undergo.

Over 63% of cancer patients seek to integrate their conventional care with complementary and alternative therapies often without supervision and guidance.

Integrative Cancer Care provides an evidence based approach that facilitates and guides the patients to identify and integrate complementary and alternative treatments that can empowers them to improve their symptoms and make lifestyle changes that can prevent cancer. It provides patients with more control over their symptoms. It inculcates physical, mental and spiritual wellness.
