Workshop: How to protect our brain and prevent dementia?


 

Every 4 seconds someone gets diagnosed with  dementia. Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death. The process of dementia begins 30-50 years before the onset of symptoms of dementia.

In this workshop you will learn how you can identify signs of early damage to the brain such as poor concentration and comprehension, as well as focus on 3 key areas that can significantly prevent the development of dementia; (1) Diet, (2) Physical activity type and duration, (3) Stress resilience 

 

By the end of the workshop you will be able to:

 

  • Identify the root causes of dementia 

  • Develop goals to support lifestyle changes that will significantly impact on preventing and improving dementia.

 

There will be time dedicated for question and answers at the end of her session.

About Dr. Nadia Ali, M.D, M.B;B.S, MPH, ABHIM, FACP 

 

Dr. Nadia Ali is dually board certified in Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine. She obtained her Master's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins and her mini-geriatric fellowship from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of physicians and a Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Medicine. She completed her Mind Body Certification from Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and her Maharishi Ayurveda Health Professional Certification from Maharishi Ayurveda Association of America.
